Along with its neighbouring municipalities, the Municipality of Ljubljana is not one of those areas where renewable sources of energy can be extensively used as there is not enough sunlight, the use of heat pumps is limited, whereas the use of wood in different forms is inappropriate in urban areas.
Due to its environmental benefits and favourable impact on air quality, natural gas is the most suitable energy source in urban areas. To be able to preserve the important role of natural gas as a fossil energy source in the course of the transition to a low-carbon society, the maximum number of active customers must be ensured. This is also the desire of every natural gas distributor which builds its own network and gas lines.
With its gas supply network, Energetika Ljubljana connects the Municipality of Ljubljana, Brezovica, Dobrova - Polhov Gradec, Dol pri Ljubljani, Škofljica, Log - Dragomer and Medvode.
